Whitepaper V4.1

23. Governance

Approved

IONON uses Aragon OSx/TokenVoting architecture for on-chain governance. Aragon supports existing non-governance ERC-20 tokens by wrapping them in a GovernanceWrappedERC20 that adds ERC20Votes-compatible delegation and voting while allowing deposits and withdrawals of the underlying token.

This makes the gIONON accounting rule explicit: gIONON represents deposited IONON for governance; it is not a second 100M economic supply.

The governance registry must publish:

  • DAO contract address;
  • TokenVoting plugin address;
  • gIONON wrapper address;
  • underlying IONON address;
  • voting settings and quorum;
  • proposal-creation permissions;
  • execution permissions;
  • treasury Safe and any timelock;
  • upgrade permissions;
  • delegate registry;
  • emergency/security permissions, if any.

The website must not show placeholder proposals as if they are executed governance history. Status values should be machine-derived: draft, proposed, voting, passed, rejected, queued, executed or cancelled.
