19. Future Economic Layers: Stable Settlement and Reputation

Approved

The legacy design contained three assets: ION/IONON, iUSD and AIX. Only IONON is in Genesis.

Stable settlement. Today, USDC and regulated payment rails can provide unit-of-account stability. An IONON-native stable settlement asset should not be issued until reserve, custody, redemption, accounting, legal and jurisdictional requirements are independently solved.

Reputation. The current public identity design states that reputation is earned and cannot be laundered through transfer. That design principle conflicts with treating reputation as a freely tradable speculative token. AIX therefore remains a design-stage reputation/incentive layer. Before issuance, governance must decide whether it should be non-transferable reputation, a points/credential system, or a separately transferable asset. This whitepaper does not pre-commit that decision.
